Ah goodness, the last few months have been about as much whirlwind adventure as I can take!
Nutshell:
My husband has worked from home for an amazing company for a little over a year. We have wanted to move closer to where the office is actually located for a while, and he has been needed IN the office more and more, therefore - have gotten more and more frustrated with how often he is traveling.
So - we started making lists and talking about selling our house and moving to the beach. Too good to be true right?
You know when something is just right, and you know it, and you feel it, and every possible little thing you can think of falls into place so perfectly, that it actually feels like God is paving you your own personal yellow brick road?
Yeah.
So we put the house on the market - it sold in less then 24 hours.
We found a house to move into, with perfect timing (the house had not even been listed as available for rent, the manager just happened to mention it when I called her about a tiny condo - and she said this house would be ready on the very day we would be ready for it). The house is not only the perfect size for us, but it has a second master bedroom so we can have lots of guests come visit! And it has amazing neighbors that my kids adore, it is in a wonderful school district and the weather is PERFECT. Every. Single. Day.
Look, I have beach babies now!
And all of this happened, pretty much from start to finish - in exactly one month. One very VERY crazy busy month!
Now, we have lived in our new house for about 6 weeks, and things are calming down. We did throw a week long camping trip in there, you know, just for fun - so I guess we have lived here for about 5 weeks. (We have decided that we recommend going away on vacation a few weeks after moving. It forces you to slow down and you come home with a fresh perspective on getting everything unpacked and put back together!) We have had lots of guests so far, and we are looking foreword to more. We have a bed in the guest room and everything. Come and spend a weekend with us!
Call first though....please?
Sure there have been tons of changes, schedules to re-work. I have had to get used to having my husband gone all day - I have been spoiled with him working from home. And sometimes those days are very VERY long and I don't speak to any other adults for days and days...I admit I go a bit kooky at times!
("So very many children....so many hours with so very little to do...so exhausted, my house is a mess...even though I have been cleaning ALL day! But...but...I thought I was finished with laundry! So many questions, why are there so many questions? How can we fill the hours and hours and hours and hours again and again and again...wait, adult conversation? But...but...I can't remember how!")
Ah yes, good times.
We miss our friends, our family and our beloved church. But over-all, this move has been a really good thing for us, and it feels like there are so many possibilities, still yet to be discovered!
Sadly (as some of you may have noticed) I'm not really writing at all right now. I can't - when kids are home all the time I simply can't focus, and I turn into 'Mean-Yell-E Mom' if I try, and that is not ok. So until kids are back in school and I can find a good life rhythm - that has to be put on hold. BUT, I am hoping to at least come back and write here every so often. I have a few ideas mulling that need to be released into the wild. And I am also planning on doing an online Essential Oils 101 type of class (so many people have asked me so many questions, I figure why not have a general class) I will post the info for each class day to this blog (as well as to a private facebook group, so let me know if that is something you are interested in being a part of, so that when I create the group on facebook I can be sure to add you!) That way, all the info can be easily accessed - and is nice and organized!
Oh, and I think we have found a new church, which is amazing!
Oh goodness, that was not much a of a nutshell really. Of course I am, if anything, exceptinally long winded as a general rule...so I think I did pretty good!
I am starting to feel settled. It is a good feeling! I am looking foreword to the adventures that still lie ahead...
“Later on, when they had all said “Good-bye” and “Thank-you” to
Christopher Robin, Pooh and Piglet walked home thoughtfully together in
the golden evening, and for a long time they were silent.
“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what's the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What's for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting to-day?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It's the same thing,” he said.”
